The D&D Conjuration Summoning Puzzle

  • Type: Mechanical Puzzle
  • Location: Great Hall
  • Difficulty: Hard

The Puzzle:

For a conjuration summoning D&D puzzle you would expect the puzzle to have conjuration magic. But that’s not the case with this puzzle. It’s a simple mechanical puzzle that does require the players to use conjuration magic by summoning creatures.

In a great hall players find a mural of a collection of creatures sitting on a dais. Next to the mural painting is the actual dais, but it is empty for the moment.

Puzzle solution:

Players must summon all the creatures on the mural and place them on top of the dais. You, the DM decide how many creatures are depicted on the mural of course, so you can tax the PCs conjuration abilities to the max. Be sure to check out the maximum amount they can conjure prior to introducing this conjuration puzzle.

Puzzle clues:

An investigation of the dais reveals it is actually a great scale that must have the precise amount of weight on it in order to set a mechanism into motion. The mechanism could open a door reveal a hidden staircase, etc.
