- Type: Ability puzzle
- Location: A Demon Shrine
- Difficulty: Difficult
Background:
The party is trying to enter an ancient shrine that is guarded by a powerful demon. The demon will only allow those with pure blood to enter the shrine, and will not be swayed by charms or threats.
The Puzzle:
The party must use their charisma and knowledge of blood magic to convince the demon to allow them to enter the shrine. However, the demon is immune to charms and will not be swayed by threats or violence.
Solution:
To solve the puzzle, the party will need to use their charisma and knowledge of blood magic to find a way to convince the demon to let them pass.
First, the party should use their charisma to try to establish a connection with the demon. This might involve using flattery, humor, or other tactics to appeal to the demon’s ego or desires. Use charisma based checks and roleplay for this. The player chooses whether they want to do this as a roleplay challenge or if they want to use their PC skills. Don’t make this one too easy. It’s a demon after all.
Next, the demon has presents the party with a series of blood vials, each containing a different type of sorcerer blood. The party must use their knowledge of blood magic to determine which lineage corresponds with which vial. Have the players make skill checks to determine this.
With a combination of charm and knowledge, the party should be able to find a way to convince the demon to let them pass and enter the shrine.
