D&D Elven Puzzle: The Bow and Song

  • Type: Music puzzle
  • Location: an elven city
  • Difficulty: Easy

Background:

The party has come across an ancient, hidden elven city deep in the heart of the forest. As they explore the city, they notice a strange, ornate door hidden in a massive tree trunk.

The door is sealed shut, and there is a small, circular keyhole on the front. Upon closer inspection, the party realizes that the keyhole is surrounded by a series of intricate symbols and patterns. It seems that the keyhole is actually part of a larger puzzle, and the party must solve it in order to open the door.

The Puzzle:

The party must figure out how to unlock the puzzle door in order to uncover whatever treasure or clue lies behind it. They notice that there are four small levers on the side of the door, each one marked with a different symbol. They also see that there are four corresponding symbols etched into the surface of the door, just above the keyhole. On the door itself is a line of elven music.

The party realizes that they must manipulate the levers in a specific order in order to unlock the puzzle door. They also see that there is a small, ornate bow hanging on a small branch next to the door.

The Solution:

The party must use their puzzle-solving skills to figure out the correct order in which to manipulate the levers. They may need to make use of their knowledge of symbols in order to solve the puzzle.

One helpful clue is to play a song on the bow. So players can use their bow as a harp with one string.

The notes of the song will correspond to the symbols on the door, and the party must determine the correct order of the levers based on the song. They may also need to use the numbers on the door and their own logic to determine the correct order of the levers.

Once they have successfully unlocked the puzzle door, they may find a valuable treasure inside, or a clue to their next adventure.
