- Type: Elemental puzzle
- Location: Underground
- Difficulty: Medium
Background:
You are a group of adventurers who have been hired to retrieve a powerful magical item from a hidden underground chamber. To get to the chamber, you must navigate a series of puzzles and traps designed to keep intruders out.
The Puzzle:
As you make your way through the underground tunnels, you come across a room filled with different blocks of earth. There is a locked door on the other side of the room, and a riddle inscribed on the door: “To pass through this door, you must place the earth in the correct order.”
Solution:
To solve this puzzle, you must use your knowledge of different types of earth to determine the correct order for the blocks of earth. There are many different types of earth, including:
- Sand
- Soil
- Clay
- Rock
One possible solution is to arrange the earth in the order of the layers of the earth’s crust, starting with the outermost layer (the crust) and working inward. The correct order would be: crust, mantle, outer core, inner core.
Alternatively, you could arrange the earth in the order of the layers players have come across while travelling down through the cave. They might have to travel back and inspect the cave walls to figure out the correct order.
Once you have stacked the blocks of earth in the correct order, the door will unlock and you will be able to continue your journey through the underground tunnels.
